Who Among US Has Not Been Touched By The Evil We Call Cancer??
“To reap the rewards, you have to do the work.”
Those of you that personally know me, know that I never back down from a worthwhile challenge. When I was presented with the challenge and opportunity to be part of something bigger than me, I jumped at the chance.
I have felt the loss of cancer, deeply. This hellacious disease has taken both of my parents from me, as well as my beloved mother-in-law, at an age that was well before their time. This disease does not discriminate on its war against us, and we will not discriminate on the war against cancer. It has touched us all in one way or another…How has it touched you?
Join me in this battle!
I have been challenged, and now I challenge you!
What do you know about the Pan Mass Challenge? The Pan Mass Challenge is a 194 mile road race, an event that draws more than 5,000 cyclists, who hail from 36 states and eight countries. Now in its 30th year, the PMC raised over $30 million from the efforts put forth by PMC cyclists on August 1 and 2, 2009. To date, the PMC has raised $270 million that has been used to improve the lives of those suffering with cancer. It is the largest single contributor to the Jimmy Fund, bringing in nearly 50 percent of its annual revenue. In 2009, 100 percent of all funds raised by PMC riders went directly to the Jimmy Fund.
This summer, each of the 5,000-plus cyclists will commit to raising between $500 and $4,200 for the privilege of being a member of the PMC team.
I am one of those team members!
I have pledged to raise $4500.00 for cancer research.

Al, you are awesome! We watched the riders finish in 2009 and were overwhelmed with emotion. Losing my mother this year to cancer, and living with it the first year of my marriage to my wife brings this so close to home. Kym is now going on 3 years cancer free, and every check up we know she has beaten it! We will be 100 times prouder when we cheer you across the finish line in 2010! We will be waiting at the end, see you then!
